February 2022 Hatch-A-Long

I have to keep track. My husband uses it to write off losses for the farm. The spreadsheet lets him do just that. New sheet for each year. I also put in seller information.
Yep totally get it.

I keep track in a diary, it lives next to the incubator so it's always right there... I can tell you though I hatched 386 chicks from April to Dec last year

Day 20 and the pips have started! I have two that popped, zipped and hatched within 5 hours which is crazy to me. Two female 55 flowery (I think, hard to tell when they are still wet). I wasn’t expecting any hatching today and they are VERY active in the bator. May take them out tomorrow am so not to disturb the others. I also have 2 fayoumi, a hedemora and another 55 externally pipped. I was starting to get worried but such is hatching 😅

Well, looks like I'm going to be hatching in February (Lord willing). I've been collecting a few Columbian Wyandotte eggs over the past few days to hopefully set next week, but I walked into the chicken house this morning and found the Columbian Wyandotte who had been laying the eggs (Twix) dead on the floor... so, yeah, I'm hoping that all three of the eggs I have of hers will hatch. Thankful that I have two pullets and a cockerel from last hatch that are her kids. I'll also set some Easter Egger eggs and probably some Welsummer eggs. Those will be mixed with Columbian Wyandotte.

Quick question (this may sound dumb, but I don't know the answer 🤔)- does distilled water go bad? I have some left from my September/October hatch and wondering if I can still use it, or if I should get new/"fresh" distilled water? Thanks!

Oh, and incubating with a Nurture Right 360.
