February 2023 hatch-a-long

Meyers is now out of eggs for next week.
My rooster is finally not afraid of the hens, but I still have not seen fertile eggs, (but one) and he has not crowed yet. I still hope to get some before my shipped eggs come.

:thumbsup I'm getting the incubator fired up, I was reading the articles about incubating and stuff! I am currently collecting warm eggs to put in there. Hope your rooster gets some eggs fertilized! :)

I discovered via Facebook that my favorite breeder/hatching egg source is going out of business in June, so...
I'll be adding half a dozen each of Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucana and Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Marans eggs into my hatch. I'm hoping she can get the eggs to me before 1/28, but my hatch might be a little bit delayed depending on her egg availability. I'll add enough of my own eggs to fill the incubator.

I set aside one egg, IDK if the rooster did his work, but the hen is normally white, it is mud season and her back is muddy. I marked it so if it is not fertile I can pull it. Eggs are coming next week so this egg will be in a cool room

I placed it in an open bag. Keep moisture, but still breathe.

And tilt-tilt.

fingers crossed it is fertilized!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait for some of mine to start laying and hopefully try to hatch them. I am hoping for much better fertility rates this year between my 2 roos! I may need to do some butt fluff trimming though. LOL
