I candled mine this afternoon for a check in. It looks like I have quite a few saddled that I didn’t see before. Don’t appear to be detached at this point. Would I be seeing the air cell that early though? It’s only day 2. Can try pics later.

From what I’ve read it happens in shipped eggs. The air cell at the bottom of the egg gets damaged and changes shape to form a saddle shape versus the normal circular air cell. Can cause issues when they hatch. I’m only going by what I’ve read though I have no experience with it. If they are detached that’s even more of a problem (if you see the air cell moving around).

Oh. I didn't order eggs, my eggs are from my own hens. I wouldn't have any problems with saddling. Did you order eggs?

There is a lot of knowledge on this site and it’s been a huge help in preparing and what to expect or look for!
