February 2023 hatch-a-long

Woke up at 7 to see 7 chickies jumping (and 1 was sleeping) around in the incubator so that means I have 8 CHICKIES!!!!!!!!!! I hope more hatch.

Moved the 4 to the brooder and candled the 5th egg and didn't see any movement, going to give it a few more days just in case.
Second batch of 9 entering lockdown soon

Maybe it was a good thing I did drive in this spot has appeared on one of the eggs. I did not see it last night but also did not turn the lights all the way on it was definitely not there Friday. This egg had movement yesterday. What is this spot??

#6 just hatched. 1 DIS. . Think 1 ready to zip. 2 internally pipped, and 1 not sure on.

This is part of why I'm glad my incubators are now at the horse farm - when I had room for them at my old house I would check obsessively. Now I can't, and my hatches are better off.

I believe it means "Died In Shell" or "Dead in Shell"

As of this morning, still no chirps but I believe there is still movement going on. Will have to wait and see what happens tonight, if they hatch on time it'll be tomorrow. Hopefully they hatch and im not left with just one chick for mama. Wishing myself luck.
