I have a frizzle from a swap egg that is pipped and about to hatch. The faverolles eggs are still developing due the 22nd and 24th.

2 more pips! Gotta go to sleep, a sure way to get them to hatch fast for me.

Oh my! In my last post with pictures of the #1 chick hatched, I assumed it was a Bantam Dom/Favs cross. But alas, it's dry now & a mystery chick to me. Will contact the breeder to see what other eggs were sent along with the Favs as an xtra surprise. Will take pics tomorrow in better light, maybe one of you can figure it out. It's kinda grey/brown with blonde highlights, fluffy with maybe a few cowlicks? I don't know & it's pass time to go to bed, must be tired. Come to think of it, that description sounds more like one of the hairdoos I had done in the past while working as a hairdresser. Pics tomorrow!

Turner removed, to allow the chicks to settle and orientate for hatching.

OMG...I came downstairs this AM to a temp of 110!!

I took the lid off and am cooling it down....

I KNEW I should have just gone to get that incubator instead of having it shipped. Well, the homemade bator works fine, I just didn't have the thermostat regulated yet, I guess. Well, we'll see what happens. I'm using a 60W bulb, btw.

The temp is coming down...slowly....(prolly a good thing..don't want shock). On the plus side, the temp was 89 at 2am when I went to bed....so I don't think it could have been that high for too long....only a 4 hour between sleep and awake!

I know have 3 pips, that I can see, and there is all sorts of music coming out of the bator this morning, and I am not even close to it. I am across the room and they are raising all sorts of cain in there.

I can't wait.

I got my 1st pip (ever) last night while gone to V-day supper with the wife.

I now have 2 more, and the 1st one has started zipping. It is about 1/2 way around so far.

And I thought I was gonna be a day or 2 behind V-day.

I am so utterly nervous that one of the weird complications that Y'all write about is going to happen...
No candling, but I'm pretty sure of at least one egg hatching, my rooster and hens are...364 days old, as of today. so nice young birds, rooster does his rooster duty often.
Still have first hatch panicky-ness. EEP!

I have button quail eggs for sale...!!!! Everybody needs some. The guy who hatched them for me said he didin't want any and when they started hatching he wanted some too. I have a wide range of colors. PM me for more info and more pictures.
