Tell me more about the "tilt the bator method" for turning eggs. Like mentioned by PandoraTaylor turn an odd # of x's a day, 3 to 5 is fine.
Candling eggs is usually done on day 7 or 10 (10 is most reliable to see dark mass in the middle where the chick is, air cell on the wide end of egg, & clear egg white on the pointed end of egg). 2 additional candlings are usually done on day 14 (to sort out any for sure no good ones, but can leave them if not smelly/rotten or if not sure) & then day 18 the final cull. Day 18 is "lockdown" with humidity up, no more 3 to 5 x's a day turning at all, no more incubator opening, & just wait till day 21 for pip, zip & hatch. You probably know that the hatched chicks can stay in the incubator for a day (12 to 24 hrs) at a lower temp of 95 degrees F, they just run wander around, sleep & get stronger for the brooder.
