I think I will start a thread when I actually put them in the bator. This will be my first hatch. The Genesis 1588 has been running for a week and is right on!

I have received 2 out of three shipments so far.

8 possibly pure lavendar ameraucanas from ChickenStalker
6 blue & Black Ameraucanas form FLF
Waiting on EE's, Olives, Cochins, & silkies from Sonew (they shipped today)
Will fill with my own mutts

Question... I have these 14 eggs that arrived in the mail today.

Should I candle as you all have said you did for detached aircells? What am I looking for?

One has darker blue spots on it that look a little "oily" is this what I have seem refered to as a pourous egg?

Ha, me too - Although about Sunday is when I should candle mine and expect some veining. A week later, I'll be obsessed - I should hope to see actual babies inside. Although, with my humidity troubles right now. . . Not too hopeful.

The hygrometer read about 40%, and it is day 3. The incubator is a cheap still-air, but gee! I want babies, not dry eggs!

aceschix: You are probably right. This is my first hatch, and I'm getting multiple ranges of good humidity advice, so. . . . I guess I'll find out soon, hahah.

incubator 99.5-100.5 humidity 35%
Hatcher (still air) 101-102 65-70%

No pips, but I can still hear them cheeping when I get close to it.

Oh, you have Faverolles! Are they LF or Bantam? Have you been reading the Faverolles thread? Its under the Breed, Genetics & Showing section of the index - you should check it out. Good hatching vibes coming at you!

Ugh. I checked my bator this morning and I didn't put the lid all the way on.
IT was on... .it one corner was lifted up.

It's day 3 for me
My humidity was low but my temps were same as usually.
I also picked up a LED Flashlight from my work.
I can see inside the eggs now.
