YES!!!! OH MY!! My DH and I had no idea!!! Their eggs are about the size of a peanut m&m. No joke!
And the lil buggers are FAST!!!

eek, the button quail sound tiny. How do you manage to keep them penned up without a few escaping every few minutes?
Any pics?
Anywhoo, i heard its actually NOT normal for silkies to hatch on day 18.So Im just waiting till day 21 (friday) for any pips. and on saturday i was signed up for a 4H petting zoo at a local event and i will bring any chickies that hatch in a safe little crate with their Momma. for now, i'm just waiting, reading the little house on the prairie books, and obsessively checking my email for any new posts in this thread.
Cute chickies in the post above this one by the way.

whytedragon -------- great pics!.... Yea, my pics of my buttons dont do them justice. They are itty bitty!!

Well, yesterday was Day 21...... no pips. A voice inside me said, "what did I do wrong." Then I got ready & went to work. This morning was Day 22......no pips. That voice again, "I must have really screwed up & I thought the incubation went well." So, when I got home from work today still hoping for the best as I always do with the hatches...... there it was, a zipped egg. So I grabbed the camera & took some "progression pictures" to share with you. These were taken thru my dome incubator plastic, not the clearest pics. My Bantam Faverolles & Ameraucana/Faverolles crosses usually do their thing on Day 22 anyway; silly me. They often hatch when I'm away or sleeping too, so if that happens to you then......here's how it goes. Happy hatching everyone!!!
