Well it was a long day and I got home late and didn't get to bid on the eggs I wanted again. The good new was that I didn't get caught up in the excitement since I was only planning to go to $100. The cat chewed incubator is holding 99.5 right now so it looks like I will have a place to put my Silkie eggs while the cochins are in lock down (Tuesday night). Tomorrow I will build a brooder and buy feed. Maybe in a few weeks some more eggs will come up. Here to positive thinking and a successful hatch. I thought this would be easy but these last few days seem long, Oh well tomorrow will be a long day of planting seeds, fixing irrigation lines in the greenhouse and fertilizing the 100 plus orchids,

I candled last nigt. I had one EE that was a bloodring I tossed it. So down to 22 eggs that are alive and kicking. 5CM, 5EE, the rest are mutts for friends. Hatch day is the 26th. I can't wait.

So I can have my bator for what I want. I just can't pick.

Way to go on all the hatches!

PS I'm so envious of all the cute chicks you folks have hatched, I think reading these posts is making the waiting worse but some how I can't stop. Great baby pictures and good job to all especially the first time hatchers.

Have 56 eggs supposed to go into lockdown tomorrow. Have the hatcher set up and regulating temp. and humidity.
Had 1 eggs that looked doubltful when candled so probably will end up with 55 at lockdown.
These are the Black Australorp I just hatched. Have move all to the new brooder outside and have been checking
up on them to make sure it's not too cold. Looks like they are doing fine running around and eating.
Good Luck everybody on you hatches and congrats on those already with hatches.

Tan, I read your other thread on this, and I agree with standing back a bit, making sure there's enough but not too much humidity. You can always mist them a bit to make up for time with the bator open (no don't open the bator just because you can mist them).
Sorry about the lost chick, I hope the others do better.

We have 5 chicks so far since last night! 2 Seramas & 3 Light Brahmas. I just read on the breed info page that Seramas hatch in 19 days. Is this true?

If so, then I will stop worrying about the Wellies, Pens, & Marans.

Patience! I want to pick them up and listen to them! And take out the Brahmas who are dry, and, and... lol ok will go find something else to do
