My eggs just arrived! The mail lady delivered them even though the box said call for pickup. I checked them out and all look good. I will let them settle overnight and tomorrow I will be setting 9 sizzle eggs! So they will have a hatch date of Feb. 4.

It makes you feel like a nervous hen doesn't it. Waiting for eggs in the mail. Its enough to drive you crazy.

For me its the darn cost! So expensive & if they all freeze Im not going to be happy.

Conratulations! What kind of babies are you and your broody hatching?

Mystery chicks!! I took the main roo (BCM) out a week ago because he was picking on another roo, so now there is a Barred Rock Cochin roo in there but my blue Ameraucana has been making the rounds and is pretty forceful so I think maybe he will have some genes in there somewhere too. There might be pure Ameraucanas in there too, can't wait to see!!

OK - EGGS ARE HERE!!!! Setting in the bator tonight!

They arrived this morning - my wife had to go & sign for one box but the other was left outside on the porch

I think she found them pretty quick but it drives me crazy to think they might have frozen out there if they had to wait for me to get home from work.

No, no, I am the one with the broody cochins, and even though determined, 50 would be too many for them!!

Those (six) eggs better come early tomorrow morning so I can get them under broody #2 by evening... Then I'll have a FEB 4 hatch as well!

Mama #1 was too awesome today! I'm OK, lead RIR is OK, but MAN did she take off after one of the Wellies that got too close! Grabbed her by the ear and FLUNG her! (I'm watching my back...!) And look at how pleasant she looks on her walkabout today. Just goes to show...
