I wish someone around here would go broody lol. I'd much rather they deal with the hatching this time of year.

My new motto is,"Who needs an incubator when you've got a cochin?" No eggs for breakfast, mind you, but ever-broody, these two gals!

Question for the more experienced: do I need to let the shipped eggs sit to settle, or just stick them under Broody #2?? My BCM eggs for #1 broody I bought locally and just popped them right under her, but wondering about these overnight-shipped Splash eggs...???

You need to let them sit for a while. The general rule is 12 hours, possibly more if you choose.

DMSRabbit - Got pics of your Araucanas? Always love to see other Araucana owners, as they're not common at all.

So here's some of them, although i have gotten rid of most of Araucanas considering they are flighty/temperamental birds, and almost every farmer i have met or continue to meet tells me to get rid of em. They are apparently really hard to make happy.. Mine seem happy enough though..
