I have a hatching frenzy happening now...turkeys, New Hampshires, Marans and my favorite "Indian Rivers" which are Delaware cock over New Hampshire hens...I had to be creative with hatching too since I had 30 eggs arrive 2 weeks early...egg tetris and I had to borrow an ancient round metal incubator to hatch some in whew that was hard to adjust the temperature but it's working now.

Day 21...39 eggs in lockdown. 27 chicks hatched, 5 pips and 7 waiting, waitng and waitng some more....I have 7 bantam crosses in here that are already sold, so come on hatch.

amazing numbers! so proud of you, what type of bator do you use?

Thanks Katy, your chicks are beyond cute, I just Love EE's, they are my favorite breed.

I use a Hovabator Genesis and a forced air LG, I always have staggered hatchings going on, so if I am hatching the eggs they go in the hova, and the rest in the LG, when they hova isn't in use all the eggs go back in there. My LG is pretty stable now that I've worked all the kinks out of it, but I still prefer the Hova over the LG.

The first BCM hatched this early this morning weee no other visable pips yet, it is so hard to not open the incubator. I hope more hatch so it will not be alone

You know what? I have a bator that is pre-set, but I think it is getting extra heat from a vent in the room. Not sure, but I'll bet thats what it is. Hmmm...don't know where to move the bator cause the rest of the house to me is drafty. The chicks seem to be fine, so I might just leave it there. I don't know???
