Awwwww! Congratulations on your hatchlings. They're adorable.

We set 24 Buff Orpington and 3 Millie Fuller D'uccle eggs on Feb. 11 in our new LG incubator. This is our first hatch and are eagerly waiting one more week for the final results. Tomorrow my granddaughter and I will get the brooder all set up. We'll send pics next week. The ones we have candled shows we have a good set. Wish us well.

DAY 18...18 in lockdown...nothing so far...waiting waiting waiting...

I am currently in lockdown with 19 eggs, as of 20 min ago. Well, I have had some bumps along the way. Temperature in the house decreased due to a snow fall outside. An oil heater died bringing the temp down yet again! So if I get just 1 little chick I will be happy, but heres to hoping they all make it through my first attemp at incubatung.

My lone silkie egg that my son was given from a friend died today on Day 21.

It pipped in the wrong spot and nicked a vein (?). It had a big blood clot. It seems to have died right after pipping. Didn't even break through into the top air sac. Super cute chick, though.

Sorry to hear that your Silkei died.That is so sad to hear of a lone chick not making it.

It sounds as if you have some other beautiful birds to watch grow up though.

Day 21 -

3 EE's, 3 Barnevelders, 1 BCM, and 9 Serama chicks

3 pipped Seramas, 4 pipped Silkies, and 1 zipping Silkie

So the chicks started pipping around 9:30 am on day 22 (yesterday.) But they're in the Suro 20 and it's so crowded I cant even see how many babies are in there!! So far I've only seen one hatch out of at least 10 chicks that are in there, but this is so much fun!!

And there's 2 or 3 eggs (again, can't see too much other than chicks) that are still pipped and some that haven't even pipped yet!

18/21 have hatched. Cracked open one that was left, and it looked like it died around day 18-19. The other two hadn't pipped either, so I cracked a little hole in the top of each one, and i can see chicks in each one, but they don't look like they're moving. Put them back in the bator just in case. It's Day 22 for me.
Also have 37 that I set Thursday morning, due March 17. 12 store eggs(brown), 23 of mine(8 are from my fuzzy pair), and 2 OEGB from a friend.
