I have not really seen my eggs rocking per se, but three of the sebright eggs are not in the same position they were in when we went into lockdown yesterday. I made sure they were straight up in the trimmed-down paper egg cartons I put them in and they obviously have tilted to one side or the other. They are so ready to come out and peep at the world, I just know it!

I feel like the old guy from Jurassic Park talking to the baby velociraptor, trying to coax it out during hatch. "Come out, little one, come on!"

Wow, I've got some reading to do!

What gorgeous babies! Well, we had 11 make it to lockdown (woulda been 12... stupid me dropped one when I was turning them and got started on day 17). All 11 candled well. We had one pip last night in a sebright egg, but that pip has not progressed. This morning, another sebright has pipped, and an EE has pipped.

I hope we have at least one chick by the time we go to bed tonight, but if they all want to wait until tomorrow (day 21) to come out and it makes for healthier chicks, I'm more than happy to wait the extra day.

But DANG, I'm losing my patience! LOL!

I need to learn some of the finer points of staggered hatches.

alright i took 4 of my silkies eggs. She was up in the nesting box before, with all the other birds laying their eggs on top of her, including the big leghorn. She had 9 eggs! Poor little thing... i reduced it to 6. 3 leghorn, two silkie, and one dutch from dutch pair, just to check fertility on those. So... as i figure... its around day 5 today for all these. which means they are due around the 28, day 21 will be the last day of the month!
