Planning to set today as it’s nice to have a weekend to fuss with baby chicks when they hatch! Incubator is heating up and 14 eggs are numbered and coming up to room temperature after being in a cooler while I was collecting them. Hoping to get two more eggs by the end of the day.
I dry incubate due to the ambient humidity and only add water at lockdown.
This will be the first offspring of my silkie girls that I hatched last May. My silkie cockerel has already fathered several hybrid chicks!😊

Hi guys! Hatch day of February 7th. 9 Welsummer, 2 Pita Pinta/OE, 1 EE/OE,
1 F2 OE, 2 BC1 OE. I just pulled 3 silkie eggs today. My 31 week silkie cockerel is just not getting it done yet. I was also hoping to have ameraucana and Silverudd Blues in there, but the breeders I’m getting them from are either waiting on genetic testing or their birds to pick back up laying. I guess I’ll need to have a second spring hatch!
