february hatch along

Hi guys i thought about joining this hatch along if it’s alright? I’m not sure what days everyone is on right now but I have eggs in different stages duck and chicken.. my proudest eggs to hatch would be my own backyard flock (Rhode Island red and barredrock roo) I’ve just set them right this second (8/01/17) and hope I can still hatch along!

Welcome! What stages are your other eggs at? I definitely am a little jealous, as I wish I had multiple breeds incubating! So excited to see your progress, perhaps I can live through you!

Hahaha yes my incubator is very manic atm I made the worst mistake with putting different breeds on different dates... I have 4 Aylesbury duck eggs in the incubator one on day 18/19 and rest on day 11... I also decided to put two of my own backyard chicken eggs in as I found that they were fertile! Very exiting they are a mix between Rhode Island Red hen and Barred Plymouth Rock roo... very interesting colours! And hope to find out what stage everyone else is at? And what they are incubating?

That does sound like a busy bator, but also kinda fun. :) Let me know how you have/plan to organize based on turning and lockdown and all that.
I have 24 eggs on day 7 and I candled yesterday and found that at least 4 have incredible veins! I attached a picture of one of the best ones so far!

Wow what breeds u incubating? This is exiting! And I was planning to take the turner out as planned ... until that duckling hatched so I’m not sure if they will all make it mabye a few days of no turning will not affect them too much?hopefully a little movement from the new born duckling won’t affect the others too much.. after that I guess I’ll hand turn them as the rest hatch quite close considering chickens hatch quicker than ducks... if it goes as planned and all survive I will be very surprised! Will keep u guys updated:fl
