I have found that if they are Dark Brown, like the ones I just set, then its best to wait till day 7 or even 10 to see much,,,,, some of mine are dark enough that I don't pull clears till lockdown. I looked at my Duck eggs last night and ended up pulling 3 bloodrings on day 6... the rest had beautiful spider veins and lots of movement!
View attachment 1258842 I ended up with 7 out of 8, #8 never pipped and when I candled, the membrane had already collapsed. These 4 were ready for the brooder, and the other 3 are getting their bearings in the bator still.

on my first hatch i could not see in my brown eggs tell like day 13 but i candled my brown eggs and i seen that it was fertile its only day five lolI agree with you...I don't bother to candle my eggs till day 11 or 12. I like to be absolutely certain there is no development before I remove them.
