Day 18! This hatch has gone so quickly. I'll start lock down before we leave town tonight. I'm down to 9 eggs. Fingers crossed

I am not incubating, because I am going to be busy for a month or so, but, I am building an incubator, I will put up pics later.

I got this box for 10 dollars at a second hand store, I liked the octagon I borrowed because I could rock the eggs to turn and not hand turn...this lid had a curved top, I thought I could make one...

I took the lid off the top and put it on the bottom,

then used boards to prop it up...on one side then the other.

here is a view of inside the box...

here is how I filled it, testing with 15W clamp lamps on either end with foil, and mesh on top...

then a blanket on the mesh, I set eggs on it for looks, but I am not sure how I will hold the eggs, but the will be in the middle, (heat testing currently..

I put a foam lid on top, and knotched the foam so it is sealed on wood box..plus a glass view window, that lifts, so the foam can stay in place.

and a pic of finished project, took maybe an hr. if that...

How exciting! I've always wanted mine to hatch together. I usually just get ones and twos.
