february hatch along

Pics
it is day 19 and there are no pips i heard some tapping so i think there might be a internal pip i checked the humidity this morining and it was a 55 i put more water and know its at 63 is this ok
I’m also on day 19 with my eggs, only I have 7 and they are set under my broody hen. I am just very worried they will not hatch... it has been very cold lately, and got down to 4 degrees last night. My coop is draft free and partially insulated, but other then that there is no heat lamp or anything. I candles the eggs on day 15 and there were a lot of vains, but I’m still not sure Does anyone have any advice or experience with hatching eggs in cold weather under a broody hen? The hen that went broody has already hatched out two batches of chicks before this, so she’s not new to the experience. My eggs are due on Friday and Saturday since I put eggs in both days, and she currently is sitting on 7 eggs. Any advice/ info helps!

They could "possibly" be delayed a day or so, but she's fine. They know what they are doing, no need to add any heat for her. Especially if she is experienced. :)

Any external pips yet? Still early, so no worries yet. Just curious.
And 63 is fine. Is it still hanging in around that?

It's so exciting! :ya

Mine is still early, only day 11. :( Pulled the clears a couple days ago, gave 3 eggs to a broody. I think I have 14 still in the incubator looking great.

Alright! I just really wish I could know how they’re doing... guess I’ll judt have to wait and see
That’s the hardest part is waiting for them to hatch and just hoping they do hatch:fl:drool:pop but it’s all worth it when you have the chicks in your hands :jumpy:D keep us posted and good luck with you broody

We were going to go to Palm Springs but the weather is not great, so we might cancel, if we do, I may want to set some eggs, I have a friend who sells LO and SS eggs, but the incubator I made is untested, it was holding the heat I wanted, should I try inexpensive eggs first, or risk it and hatch the eggs I would really want?

Sorry the weather isn't cooperating for your trip! :(

Whew...that is a hard question to answer...LOL! When it comes to a breed of chicken you want...it's hard to say no! For me...it would depend on how expensive they are. I personally don't like to waste money so, that usually keeps me from making an impulse decision. I would set a few of my own eggs today and let it run till Sunday and if it's behaving, then I'd go for the eggs you really want!!! If you don't really want to hatch your own you could get a dozen really cheap store bought eggs and put them in to see how it preforms when it has a dozen eggs loaded in it.
Good luck and I'm excited to hear what you decide!!! :pop:caf
