Febuary hatch a long

Well I just candle my eggs that are on the 9th day and three out of four seem to be doing great. There was some dark masses in a couple of them but there was lots of movement in both. The fourth one unfortunately looks like it has a blood ring :( and I didn't see any movement. Don't know what happened. So sad though. I'm gonna keep it in the incubator for couple days more just to be certain. I'm reeeaaaally hoping that the rest make it. I only set six.

Well I'm a murderer. It is SO hard to be patient!!! I'm on day 4 with blue/lav. Faves and marans. I'm not candling the marans until at least 7 days... So I've been dying to get a peek at something. Candled my 9 fav eggs and could see no development at all. They were shipped and it was cold so I was so disappointed. I decided to open one. WHY?!?! Of course when I cracked it open it was looking great and I could even see a heart beat.

((((((
You're not the only murderer. I understand your pain. :( I was in such a rush to pull my fluffy chicks out of the incubator and into the brooder that I didn't realize the light bulb wasn't secured. It fell and cooked them

I am a bad chicken parent. Lesson learned. DON'T RUSH. I should have just taken my time to make sure everything was perfect. (-_-); *sighs*

oh that really is a shame so sorry to hear :(

I think I am going to keep mine going until the end unless they start to smell. Candling really isn't helping me at all. I think I have a blood ring in one, a clear one, and possibly two that are developing. My temperature and humidity are staying steady around 99.3-99.7 and 35-40%.

My friend gave me three more eggs to try so maybe they will be more successful. I am hoping to get this down because I am getting a dozen purebred ameraucana bantam eggs next week, and some hungarian partridge eggs in April.

I setting eggs tonight!!!! This is my first time!! I'm so nervous! Idk if my roo is doing his job but I'm going to just set them and hope I get something. I have a still air incubator my thermometer that came with my egg turner has a mark at 99.5 should I use that mark?
I only have 6 eggs I'm hoping my lasts lay me more today. I only have one egg every 2 days out of 16 hens :/ I think they are my NN hen. I have a silikie roo and a EE roo.

Yes use that mark on your incubator

Good luck with your hatch.

I recommend @ least 100.5 at minimum because there is no air circulating an your thermometer should be about the middle of the eggs in the bator..but that just how I run my hatches in my still air incubator :)

Good luck with your hatch.
