Fed up to HERE!!!

Simple hot wire may be more cost effective than electrified poultry netting. I use both and each has advantages for some applications. To prevent raccoons from eating toes and chewing through chicken wire I have birds in pens roost on over turned milk crates that are well away from pen walls, more than 12".

Look at this as a system of layers. I feel bad about killing critters willy nilly to protect flock when other more effective measures are available.

I hardly think trapping and shooting coons/predators that are killing chickens far from " Willy nilly" killing them.

We're going to have to agree to disagree on this topic.

Every coon, woodchuck, possum, fox or coyote I see in my yard is asking for a dirt nap. I've shot coyotes in the middle of the day within 50' of the house. Not about to fence in 2 acres.
