"Feed Grade" DE?

The SAFE DE is clearly labeled "Food Grade". I WOULD NOT used any DE not labeled with that, I don't care what some clerk calls it.

Ouch, pricey! I feel lucky my feed mill can get me Red Lake food grade DE for 14 bucks for a 40lb bag.

I'm still searching locally. My neighbor thought she saw a 50# bag at fleet farm. I'll have Hubby look there.

Mine says feed grade and "safe for all pets including livestock, dogs and cats." The feed store by us, which I really like, says that many packages now say feed instead of food as it's for animals and not people. Makes sense from a legal perspective I guess. It hasn't killed my chickens yet.

I didn't think so. 50 pounds is expensive to ship!

You can get a smaller bag on MyPetChicken and it's not horribly expensive. I use mine sparingly so 50 pounds would be too much for me. However, guess it depends on how many birds you have.
