My chickens free range in the forest all spring and summer. Towards the end of fall they have to be secured due to excessive aerial predation. The cockerels stay out though and free range all winter.

Next time can you please use words 'less than' and 'greater than' instead of the symbol? It took me multiple tries to get my answer correct and having a reference page open in my browser and even then I struggled. I'm somewhat dyslexic and the two variations actually look the same to me unless they are right beside each other.
I can't be the only one.... I hope.

My ladies are kept in a secure coop and mostly secure run (work in progress), but have access to an extra large chicken yard (approximately 85sqft per lady) seeded with a range of goods for enrichment (also a work in progress)
Edited to add: they have free choice all flock available at all times along with fresh water

Reading through this I see my answer should have been ‘my flock free ranges >1000ft per bird and is only locked up at night’ instead of the feral option. I selected the latter based on their sleeping preferences but since the poll is really about feed management and I do provide some feed I should have selected based on that.

If I cast another vote will it change my previous entries or just add to them?

How do I read the arrow thingies > < ? Which is "less than 1,000 sq ft each"?
Math and I do not get along.
If one flock of 20 has 1/2 acre to range during the day, and one flock of 4 has 1/4 acre, and I'm about to mess it all up with 40 growing birds and divvying the pens up but leaving the 1/2 acre intact to rotate them through?
