Feed store is out of oyster shell. Need calcium alternative for the next week

Layer feed should be sufficient enough, I've never felt the need to feed additional calcium to my hens..... and they are laying just fine, well for Oriental Gamefowls at least. But maybe if you have egg-layers especially, I suppose additional calcium intake would be good for them seeing as they lay eggs like every freakin' day! Crazy.

I have never used oyster shell or any supplements. Just layer feed and whatever they eat while wandering the yard.

Well if she is a new layer don't really worry. Her egg machine is a bit wonky..Definitely you can wait for the shipment of oyster shell.

She's about 10 months old. Do you think next year her system will have sorted itself out?

She probably just needs a month or so for her equipment to get settled in. Eggs are sort of complicated to make, she's gotta get calibrated.
