Feed with DE - will it work for fermenting?

I'm interesting in trying ferment food for my girls but I have put DE on my chicken food / crumbs. Will it still work with the DE on the food?

Since it is mostly silica it won't affect the ferment at all. There's no way for silica to harm yeast and bacteria.

Thanks for the reply! That's what I thought but just wanted to hear it from someone else too. Im going to start a batch today.
