They need to be in pairs at least they don't do well alone.I understand the fascination I love mine. Easy to care for, wonderful sweet and friendly . We waited several years for a chocolate one! Score. Next we want to breed all the girls and fete several babies at once and maybe some paint donkeys and start selling them. We are gelding applejack I guess ( I think is silly when he carries that chocolate gene.) but we can't have inbred-Jed's running around.sigh.![]()
That's too bad. Couldn't you just separate them and bred him with the mother only

well.. in pairs or have a buddy..
right now we only have the one mini jenny.. but she lives with our little mini stud horse and they get along fine (and no worries about hinnies since he's not into donkeys!)
ya know... you COULD keep Applejack and get him a little paint mare.. might end up with little paint mule babies!![]()
course if you did I would want one... lol...
If you get a mare that Carries two copies of the pinto gene then you can guarantee spots! Also known as a homozygous pinto.
Quote: Yeah a buddy is cool especially a something small like them.
About the little paint mini mules .....
I found that little clause down there!
Are you saying if we did that we have one sold already? What if we get some odd ball color?
lol.. my husband would shoot me... but I have been wanting a mule for a long time! I think he would insist that it be female though..... I don't know if Tequila (our little paint stud) would be happy about another feller moving in.. especially since we got rid of all our other equine boys...
edited to add:
Naturally I would have to run it past my husband.. then we would have to find a way to get her from your place to ours!
