My point is that if you know that you have placed an auction then you know when it ends and can scan for the winning buyer. You do not need to sit on the edge of your seat as the bids occur (however fun that may be). If you are buying something then a quick scan can identify the item and the time frame such that you go to the site to ensure that you have placed the highest bid. Once again you do not need to fill your mail box with unnecessary clutter. While I understand your frustration of folks not using the auction thread for what it was intended, there is no realistic way for you or me to control "internet behaviour." The only folks who can make a difference here are the site owners in administering the policies established for a given site or thread. Peace.
I guess you dont understand. If you are trying to bid on an auction, you need to go through and read each post to see if you have been out bid. And I dont want to go read 3 pages of endless chat only to find there was not one listing or one bid made. Or they chat and at the end of their chat they will bid, you miss it and lose your chance to out bid and win.
