Feedback on the current Like system...

Guess I'm going to be one of the few dissenters...I like the 'likes' and I like giving them.

To me, the ovations were nice and I liked being able to include a short comment, but they were too limited.

We've had to get used to quite a bit of new stuff with the changeover and to me, the 'likes' are just one more thing to adjust to.

it is daunting to have 85 new alerts and it is this one liked 15 of your posts you wonder do they read all of them?

I didn't read all the posts here so sorry if this has already been mentioned. . but could there be a way to keep the like button. . but add an ovation button where ovations could be separate from likes? As in, limited to how many ovations you can give. . that way folks can still "like" a post but ovations could be reserved for something believed to be really great or useful or educational? And perhaps one could comment on the ovation as to why it was given.
I sometimes like a post just as a way people will know I've been there and read their post..when I don't really have time to post. But I can see how unlimited likes sort of devalue their purpose.

Now I would not be adverse to that method but limited on those given in a day.. need to put doughnuts away before moose takes them off the counter
