I am planning on showing my Jap bantam pullet (will be hen at that time) at the fair and im not sure what kind of feeders and waterers i am expected to bring for her or if i need to buy any special food... as well as how big the cages are going to be or if we have to bring those as well... sorry if this is already a thread like this im a new chicken owner and new to byc... thanks

At our county fair, cages, food and water containers and food are all provided. Some entrants bring their own special food if it's different (usually the sponsor provides the food--like Purina). Contact the poultry superintendent to answer your specific questions.

I'm still interested in what kind of fair. Our county fair is pretty small, with mostly 4-H and some FFA entries, very few if no open class entries. The 4-H kids are in charge of feeding and watering all the animals, with adult (superintendent) supervision. It can be helpful to your peace of mind to check in and make sure the right food is being fed and all needs are covered.
