Feeders waterers ideal for ducks?

This what we are using right now. It also is good to keep from freezing in the water . When they were babies we used something similar just smaller. It was a metal one and didn’t stay heated but st that time we had them in a broader

Has anyone used this diy method at all? Was curious as to whether or not there would be good for ducks or just chickens

My ducks eat their food from a dog dish and drink out of red two-gallon feed buckets. The have a kiddie pool in the summer and a mortar mixing tub during cold, but not frozen weather.

That’s exactly what I use. So easy and less mess. I only have ducks.

I love it that they can’t spill water in it or step on the side of it, spilling it everywhere.

Do they hold feed in their mouths and drop it on the ground while heading to the water bucket?

There is a little on the ground. But not a lot when compared to what I had when I bought those long feeders from TSC.

I am very interested because my Runners especially are such slobs when they eat they dump a lot of feed out of their mouths not only when eating but also when going for water. I just don't know how well they would take to something like that set up.

They eyed it for a couple days and acted like it was going to kill them. Then I put some mealworms on the elbows of the tote. They couldn’t resist their favorite treat. I jiggle the bag and they know what it is.
