Feeding Dogs!

Oh, and lets not forget many of those still have traces of any vaccine they may have received. Leading to even more issues in our overvaccinated pets.
Now that IS something I worry will shorten my dogs' lives. The sheer amount of vaccinations the vets recommend sure does seem like overkill.

My opinion is like this, raw food is best and healthiest when done correctly. Just like many healthy eating ways for humans. But for many people it's not sustainable to feed a fully raw diet, whether is be because of price or convenience or any other factors. Just like how those diets for humans might not be sustainable for some people. It's ok too feed kibble and nobody should feel ashamed for it as long as you are feeding a hugh quality, nutritious kibble, whether it be the big 5 or a boutique brand, kibble is finicky and finding one that works for your dog can be hard.
I feed my dog half kibble in her diet for many reasons, one being price. She's very healthy. But I also do a lot of research on what kibble I chose

Agreed. We were just at the vet yesterday with our ancient 17 year old due to an issue and they told us we "had" to get Bordatella to which I replied he never gets boarded anywhere, BUT, because we take him to a groomer for a nail trim, it is required by the groomer and the vet is by the book on everything. Unnecessary harm to my old guy and painful to my pocket. I felt scammed

I have fed dogs I have had different things. Some got mostly table scraps and sometimes raw meat as well as some commercial dog food. And, then, others have gotten 99% commercial dog food. They all have lived long healthy lives, and lived as long or longer than the specific breed average.

That isn't right. At the vet I worked at, we a lot of times didn't vaccinate extremely old dogs.

I think the main reason I don't like kibble is because of how processed it is, weather it has too many carbs or not. Yall did bring up a good point about dogs not being wolves, so higher carb content is not as bad. But I still think less carbs would be better.
I'd have to agree with this, it's so processed that a lot of the actual nutrients in the food are burnt away too

Wow, that's sad. I'm glad I trim my own dogs' nails. We too stop with most of those vaccines when they get old and mostly stay home. Amazing that your dog is 17 though!
