feeding wheat

Quick question with regards to feeding wheat..

I have both Red Spring and Winter White wheat that I grind to use for bread making. Can my chickens eat it unground? And how much would be appropriate for a for them to have daily along with the normal commercial food they get? I currently have 5 layers and two 11 week old pullets.

Thanks much!

So long as it is not moldy or otherwise rotten wheat of any type is fine to feed to chickens. Just treat it like scratch grain as in don't use it as a substitute for a balanced feed. They can eat it unground.
