Feeding Wild Birds

Yeah my stupids have been hit Sunday, Monday and Tuesday this week alone. Lost at least 4 birds ,3 jennies and a jake and the ground predators are taking the kills. Caught 3 young raccoons recently.
Managed to get the 4 remaining jakes that were sleeping in the trees and the hens that get along into the coop last night and cut a wing this morning. The last carcass was still warm at sunrise 6:30, so I went out at 5 and looked around and didn't see anything. Maybe I spooked them.
They will be 6 months Nov 1st, still thinking about harvesting now. It's a pain convincing them to go in.

I have already started harvesting. The last one dressed 9 1/4 lbs.

I know for a fact that they will eat skunks.

Just some "creative" photographs taken this morning of my bird feeder in the front garden.

Saw 'my' turkeys for the first time since we got home. They came in around 4:15 and were very thirsty - nearly emptied the two water pans that I have by the bird feeder. A new hen has joined the flock. The mean 'B' dominant hen is keeping her on the outskirts of the flock. She did come in and eat and drink after the others moved off. The bearded hen was treated the same way when she joined the flock.

Spooked a small owl while planting trees. Didn't get a picture to use to identify it. I suspect it has been around for a few days based on how full the bird feeder has been staying.

Yesterday I saw a Yellow-fletched Northern Flicker for the first time since 2008.
