Feeding Wild Birds

Birds at home and at the club are eating perhaps 1/3 of what they were eating a couple of weeks ago. Not finding dead birds like I did last time West Nile struck, but I have found 3 places where something ate crows - probably debilitated by West Nile.

I think this is a Wilson’s Warbler I saw at the lake last week. There were two playing with each other in a tree. I’ve never seen one before.

Yes, it is a Wilson's Warbler. I usually have some here at this time of year.

I finally managed to capture a Sunbird on my Aloe plant. Unfortunately the Aloe was in the shade by the time this little guy showed up, so I will keep on trying to get the shot I have been hoping for, which is of a male Sunbird showing off his dazzling shimmering feathers in full sunlight.

A cute little half still juvenile starling came along to eat some peanuts. I hardly see them eat peanuts

Got a good look at the little warblers this morning. They are Wilson's warblers.

The fall migration is on.

Saw an American Redstart this morning.

The Wilson's Warblers are working the oak trees.
