Feeding Wild Birds

Pecking order rearranging, new jakes trying to get up in line.
Don't think so, these are 4 mature toms that have been visiting for several years. This spring there was a lot of posturing and strutting, but generally this time of year they are quiet.

Flock 1 came in this afternoon. Of the 4 largest poults, 3 appear to be jakes. The next group, down to 3, are pheasant sized. 3 mature hens with this flock. Flock 2 has not been seen in several days. The 9 hen flock came in to feed this morning. The toms gave me a break today with no wake up call.

Hummingbirds are GONE! Feeders washed, bubble wrapped and stored. Fifty pounds of seed in the storage can, suet and seed in the regular feeder for the cold weather birds.
I think most of mine have left too; I haven’t seen the male in a while, just a lone female/juvenile. No angry tsew-tsew noises for a while either.
