Feeding Wild Birds

Pics
There was a feeding frenzy here yesterday - usually indicates a coming storm, but all is/was calm. Two days ago I saw three Canada geese flying over the club. Suddenly they split up and rapidly flew in three different directions - then one of the immature eagles appeared - just cruising along.

I've mentioned the habituated male Cooper's hawk who winters at the beagle club. Today I found his partially eaten body in the middle of the clubhouse lawn. Looked like a raptor kill. Doubt that a redtail could catch him. Perhaps a GHO got him last night ?

What's a GHO?

Some Winters it gets so cold that the snowy owls form up North migrate as far as the Southern shores of lake Eire. They truly are a spectacular sight.
Some years they show up in Central Park and even make it to the Jersey Shore where they hunt the marshes.
