Feeding Wild Birds

I am just seeing one bald eagle right now. They usually have a nest by this time, and that means only one will be off the nest at a time. But the strange thing is, I only saw the one all January, as if they started their nest early in late December. I hope that is what happened. I would hate to lose one. They have been together and living in this nest for more than 10 years.
Had one do a fly by over the lower field today.

This is the feeding wild birds thread, and I honestly do not intentionally feed the bald eagles. However, I have unintentionally fed them chicken dinner. 😳 I was not happy about that. It was devastating. But, mostly I do really love having them here. They are beautiful and majestic birds. :love

I’ve got European Starlings, and the problem is they’re bullies - they chase off the other birds.

Speaking of, I need to find more types of feed they don’t like. I use safflower seed right now, because every time I put something else out they monopolize it and chase everything else away. I want to feed the cardinals! 😡
When we got snow a couple weeks ago I made sure I filled all the feeders. I put safflower seeds in the "house" feeder because the Cardinals love them, and grackles won't eat them. So, the grackles showed up, and threw all the safflower seeds on the ground, leaving the "house" feeder empty. They were trying to find sunflower seeds I'm sure. Brats.

Your cardinals eat Safflower seed? I wish mine did!
