Feeding Wild Birds

I'm looking forward to spring!!! I have my tomato and herb starters going in the greenhouse. I may leave the herbs in there for the summer. They love the heat and grow lights, and don't do so well in my garden beds or on my deck.

On the bird front, I have seen 2 flocks of geese flying through. Seems early, but it's a hopeful sign!!! Otherwise, all the same birds at the feeders. Doves and blue jays stay here during the winter, and they seem to count on me to keep them fed. ❤️

Yesterday we had a winter storm, mainly sleet and freezing rain. I've been inundated with birds I only see when we get wintry weather:
Juncos
White-throated sparrows
Goldfinch
Purple finches
Female Red-winged blackbirds
Bluejay

And my usual:
Cardinals
House finches
Myrtle warblers
Pine warblers
Carolina wren
Chickadees (Carolina, probably)
Titmice
Downy woodpecker
Nuthatches
Brown thrashers

I think that's all.

The Red-bellied woodpeckers have probably been around, too, just missed them.
