I talk to them. They watch me fill the feeders so they learn quickly who brings the goodies.

This particular woodpecker was at the feeder when I went out to fill it. It moved 5' away and watched as I added the suet cake. As soon as I moved away, it went right back to eating.
I had a female humming bird drink from the feeder, while I was holding it to put it back up!

Way to go, 'Tom'. They were gobbling, strutting, fanning up a storm this morning. Flock was smaller once again - just 5 hens and the two toms. 3 of the hens are wearing transmitters, and both toms are banded.
The flock will continue to get smaller as the hens hide their nests and abandon the toms.
