Saw a fledgling House Finch on the deck rail.

Hopefully he will get used to me enough to catch and return. Right now he comes up within 6 ft, but hasn't been in an area to try and catch.

The East is not to be shown up. Saw the first Eastern Kingbird this morning - also a female grosbeak. They have arrived.

The Eastern Kingbirds have been here for about a week.

Had what we think was a Western Tanager at the feeder yesterday. I miss all the pretty little birds. We are planning a feeder just for them. Something too small for pigeons and inaccessible to squirrels.

Yes. Now is about when they start showing up due to a failed or lost nest and you know what they are looking for.

Yes this is the same hen as earlier this year.

At least one nest of robins has fledged and left the nest.
