Feeding Wild Birds

Saw a male Grosbeak at the club this morning. Right now two of the 'transmitter' hens and one of the banded gobblers are feeding at the home feeder. The hens spend a lot of time in the backyard - figure they had failed nests this year? Haven't seen the tom in a couple of months. Apparently the breeding season was rough on him. He is significantly lame favoring his left leg.

That's very sad. Hope he is able to heal from that. Do you think he might have been attacked?

I don’t love the house sparrows at my feeders but the babies are starting to visit with their parents this week and they’re adorable and chubby! This one is almost an adult already, but I’ve seen several that demand the feedings still 😂
