I think maybe a cute little pine Siskin pair of birds at my feeder this evening. Took me a while to come up with what they are, could be wrong.View attachment 4144740View attachment 4144741View attachment 4144742

The silhouette on the third photo shows the siskin's sharp pointed beak, unlike the fat beak of finches. Beaks are a great identification point.

We watched a couple of ducks float down the river that we have never seen before. One had a red head and light Grey or white back with long beak, longer than any other ducks here. The other one was similar but much more muted colors. Figure that was a female.

In Washington birds lists the closest I can come is the Canvasback. Didn't have my phone or binoculars out here, of course. If that's the right duck i doubt I'll see them again. I read that this would be a migratory path and they are very rare, so I don't think they'll be hanging around.

So true! Thanks for pointing that out, at first I did think they were finches.

I have a alarm clock that a light gradually gets bright. It also has choices of sounds. The one I use is the robins

I don't use an alarm clock and still get lots of robin sounds.

I'm not complaining, but there are no house sparrows around here at the present time.
