Feeding Wild Birds

Aww how many in that clutch? Do you feed them bird seeds?

There were 4. They fledged last monday, the worst possible day they could have.. well. Except for during a storm I suppose.
I had company and lots of activity around. I think I got them all shooed safely to the flower bed under the catalpa tree before they got ran over by kids or dogs. I haven't seen a bluebird since. I hope they did ok!

I wanted to get a hummingbird swing but didn't want to pay for one. I was looking around in my stuff for something to make one out of and saw this candle holder thing I wasn't using.
It's perfect! They use it quite a bit. Especially when it is raining since it's under cover a bit.

Merlin says it has no idea but mama is a Wilson's Phalarope and was taking lots of issues with me every time I went by there as I was mowing.

It is tiny.

The best thing I can do for it is to leave it alone. It has lots of bugs available as well as skeeter larvae.

Found a Mourning Dove nest while I was mowing the field.

Today Merlin confirmed the chick as a Wilson's Phalarope right after identifying its mother.

I didn't know they nested on the ground, the mourning doves.
