They are fish eaters. I would guess the nest is located somewhere near a body of water.

It is! Right by the lake, next to the dam.

Oh neat! I will need to look into those, I don’t know much about them.

You're so lucky to have a nest nearby. We had one the first year we were here and loved watching the babies grow up. Unfortunately for us, the bald eagles would not share their territory very willingly and the osprey found somewhere else to nest the next year.

By far my favorite bird. They are also referred to as sea hawks here. The Seattle Seahawks are named for them.

Glad I wasn't the only one who saw that. But hey, I thought a frog peeping was a bird before.

So ready for these freeloading Humming Birds to pack their bags. Two gallons of syrup a day is a little much. But DW loves them so I guess my only option is to KEEP MIXING. Stopped the bird seed feed 'cause the Cow Birds and Starlings were just like hogs at a trough. Will start up for the winter birds though.

Can anyone identify this bird? Is it a juvenile grackle? The camera called it a crow, but I don’t know about that.
