I don't feed wild birds.
But the Red Tailed Black Cockatoos come and feed themselves off my White Cedar, by eating the berries. They are such messy so and so's with all the bits they drop everywhere. But being an endangered species are most welcome.
Usually only 3/10 will come here, but on dusk when they head out to the river to roost, I have counted up to 39 birds in the gathering flock. (I had to count real fast)

I believe the birds in the background are Western Kingbirds.

We were down in town getting a battery for one of the cars the other day and we got to see this red tailed hawk catch a small snake and take it up on the light post.

Down to 1 Hummingbird feeder. Past yrs wasn't till mid Sept that this happens. They were late getting here also. Hordes of them through the summer though. This is not the only anomaly of this summer. Scores of Grackles, Red Wing BLK Birds and Starlings, which is out of the ordinary. Not one Goldfinch, Woodpeckers are way down and rare sighting of Cardinals. Natures way of telling you? Even the chickens are off with, I don't know who, 5 eggs consistently from 4 birds. I know things cycle, but this has me scratching my head. Brutal heat this yr may have a little to do with it. One thing I'm grateful for? I've only had to mow once so far.

I suspect that you are too far east for them.

I saw one, once, in Connecticut, a stray. It's been 50 years.
