I have 3 different ages of chickens all togethert in the same coop & yard. I have a 3 different age appropraite feeds for them in 3 areas. However my older hens have stopped eating their feed & are now eating the medicated feed for my younger ones. Does anyone know why? How do I stop them? I have no way of seperating the area for all 3 ages. My older ones are about 2 to 3 yrs old. Then the middle ones are 5 months old & my youngest ones are 3 months old.
Any wisdom on this would be greatly appreciated!

When I have a bunch of different ages, I get something called "flock raiser" or "all flock", it's like layer feed without the calcium, and just leave out a bowl of oyster shell for the layers to eat if they wish.

You will never be able to keep your layers away from the medicated stuff without keeping the groups physically apart. The three month old ones will be fine without medicated feed at that age.

Thank you for the info. I needed to go for more medicated & now I will not. I will get the "all Flock".
