So, I gotta say right up front, I miss my birdies
My flock consists of one rooster and three hens right now, two of which are very new. I'm just starting to get to know their personalities. They live in my boyfriend's nice big yard.......and because of how busy things have been lately, I rarely get to go see them (they're a ways away) I just want to go and watch them pick around the yard and interact. Boo
Yes I'm sorry, this part is a bit of a "pity me" post.
Okay, now I have a question: What kind of soap is okay to use to wash chickens, if any? Would pet shampoo or regular shampoo work okay? Maybe something like just warm water? My two new girls came from a home where they were in a very crowded pen, and they're little grimeballs right now, particularly Mimi, my BR pullet. She's pretty good about letting me handle her, so I wanted to see if I can give her a nice bath the next time I see them and get her cleaned up. Muddy chickens I am fine with. Greasy......not so much. Also, any tips on how to hold on to her to help keep her calm while I'm washing her?
