Hi everyone

I'm a first time hatcher and feeling very nervous. I have 2 eggs that are due to hatch in a few days. What happens if they're struggling to get out? What's the best advice, do I intervene?? Any help would be much appreciated

If they are actually struggling, it may be because of low humidity. Let them be for a while and make sure first. Take a spray bottle of warm water and mist the chick very lightly where it looks like the membrane is stuck. Mist the inside of the incubator and close it/keep it closed. Chicks can take a couple of hours to break free of the shell so don't intervene unless necessary. Raise the humidity and keep it closed is best. If you have room, you can even wet and crumple up some paper towels and set them in there on hatch day. Don't know what type of incubator you have.

If the temperature and humidity have been, and is, correct try to be patient. Most chicks hatch on their own. Don't open the incubator unless you are sure that you need to intervene. Opening the incubator would change the temp and humidity at a critical time. Hatching can take many hours.

it's only a little one, but you can add water if necessary

Where are you located?
Don't think I've ever seen a incubator outside in a mini coop....
..well, I assume that outside.

Have you candled for development and marked air cells throughout incubation?

I have 2 other eggs in the incubator that are due three days later than the ones in question, am I ok still turning those eggs even though I've stopped turning the older ones, I didn't want to disturb them as there due to arrive Tuesday

You can stop turning them all.
Are the air cells of good size?
If the later group is still small you can put off raising humidity until the first pip
