Female and Male Leghorns?

It looks to me like the one with the long tail is a pullet and the one with fluff is a cockerel. Regardless of breed (besides the breeds without tails), hens develop their feathers faster. I think it's a pair.

Pic s --They look like hens, but I have no experience with the breed!
so the comb and waddle size makes no difference?

Like I said, I have no experience with the breed! So I dunno.

what ratio of hens should I have ?

You are commenting on a very old post but I will respond with what little I know. I have 5 white leghorn chicks who are 3 weeks old in my second bedroom right now. I sexed them with their feathers when they were first hatched and rubber banded their legs to signify girls. I have noticed that the girls developed their tail feathers almost a week ahead of the cockerels. The pullets do have combs but the cockerels combs are already getting pretty red. The cocks are much less afraid of my cats and will even attempt to poke an eyeball. My cats are just super curious, not hungry.

Do you have pics of yours? Ill give my best guess.

thanks for the reply
