Can chicks of the same breed have different size combs and still both be female?

Both Buff Orpingtons. Vent sexed as female. 2.5 weeks old.

Hi there! Yes, it possible that some females mature faster, Though vent sexing is not 100% reliable. Your chicks are too young to visually sex, so please update us when they are 6-8 weeks old. So adorable!

One of my Orpingtons is just so much smaller than the other. I have seen it happen around here and I think it’s common with hatchery buff orps

I have Buff Orpintons and some were a little runty but they are starting to catch up at 20wks old. One of my runty ones has become a bit sassy.
